2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following information when you use Woofy:
- Account information: Your name and email address, provided through Clerk authentication (Google OAuth or Facebook OAuth).
- Dog profile data: Your dog's name, breed, weight, gender, birth date, health category, photos, and notes.
- Health assessment data: Daily check-in scores, symptom logs, worry logs, weight entries, medication/supplement tracking, and lump monitoring data.
- Reminder preferences: Notification times and frequency settings you configure.
We do NOT collect: Location data, payment or financial information, or any data from minors under 18 years of age.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Provide and improve the Woofy health tracking service
- Generate health trend charts, wellness scores, and vet-ready summaries
- Send you reminders, push notifications, and optional email newsletters
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
All your dog health data is private to your account. We do not share, sell, or publicly display your data.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Clerk: For user authentication, including Google OAuth and Facebook OAuth sign-in. Clerk processes your name and email. See Clerk's Privacy Policy.
- Google OAuth: If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email with us via Clerk. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Facebook OAuth: If you sign in with Facebook, Facebook shares your name and email with us via Clerk. See Facebook's Privacy Policy.
We do not currently use any analytics or advertising tools.
5. Communications
Woofy may send you the following communications:
- Push notifications: Health check-in reminders and medication alerts (configurable in app settings).
- Email newsletters: Optional weekly health summaries (opt-in via settings).
- In-app reminders: Customizable reminders for vet appointments, check-ins, and medications.
You can opt out of all communications at any time through the app settings or by contacting us at [email protected].
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings. Upon account deletion:
- All your personal data, dog profiles, health assessments, photos, medications, reminders, and logs are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Deletion is irreversible — we cannot recover your data after this process.

7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Clerk, and access-controlled database storage. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights
Under applicable UAE data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (see Section 6)
- Withdraw consent for communications at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority
